Reporting to the Director of Content, the Digital Marketing Strategist (Remote or Hybrid) works closely with SEO Specialists, Copywriters, Designers, Product Marketing Managers, and other teammates across the organization. This role acts partly as a strategist, partly as a consultant/coach, and partly as a hands-on implementer.

With a strong background in digital marketing, SEO, and content marketing, you will:
 

  • Troubleshoot website traffic issues
  • Analyze data and identify actionable insights
  • Support struggling products/sites with stronger strategies
  • Provide cross-functional digital marketing, SEO, and data/tracking expertise

You will also develop data solutions, oversee tag management, ensure tracking tools are implemented correctly, and create dashboards and reporting solutions to improve the company’s digital marketing performance.


Key Responsibilities

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO issues (crawl errors, indexing, site speed, mobile usability).
  • Investigate traffic drops, ranking fluctuations, and performance inconsistencies.
  • Monitor Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Semrush, and other SEO tools.
  • Audit and recommend improvements for structured data, metadata, and schema.
  • Collaborate with development and design teams to maintain SEO best practices.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to improve SEO results across teams.
  • Act as a consultant and strategist for company-wide SEO and digital marketing initiatives.

2. Data Management, Reports, & Analysis
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor digital marketing performance.
  • Provide both regular and ad hoc reports (SEO, Paid Media, competitor analysis).
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Serve as the “product manager” for third-party performance/data tools.
  • Stay up to date on industry and algorithm updates to maintain best practices.

3. Support & Hands-On Implementation
  • Act as an internal consultant for SEO, Content, Dev, PR, and PMMs.
  • Research emerging trends and recommend modernized strategies.
  • Optimize off-site digital marketing (e.g., social, YouTube, forums).
  • Audit competitor sites and backlink quality, maintaining disavowal lists.
  • Ensure compliance with legal/industry SEO regulations.
  • Provide coverage for SEO Specialist duties as needed.

4. Special Projects & Miscellaneous Duties
  • Support website migrations, redesigns, and product launches.
  • Run or oversee tests/experiments on marketing elements.
  • Maintain competitor knowledge library to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Ensure Veracity leverages the latest SEO and digital marketing tools effectively.

5. Other Duties as Assigned
  • Attend annual Marketing Department offsite.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the Director of Content or VP of Marketing.


Requirements and Qualifications
 
  • 5+ years SEO and/or digital marketing experience (hands-on + strategy).
  • Strong ability to connect data sources, automate reporting, and analyze insights.
  • Deep knowledge of SEO, content optimization, and digital marketing trends.
  • Experience creating SOPs and best practice frameworks.
  • Proven ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SEO and analytics tools: Ahrefs, Semrush, MOZ, GA4, GSC, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, etc.
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to scale strategies.
  • Strong technical SEO knowledge (core web vitals, site errors, server issues, RegEx, schema, etc.).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing tactics, SEO, and content marketing.
  • Ability to quickly pivot strategies to align with SEO landscape changes.
  • Strong A/B testing and optimization skills.
  • Ability to tie metrics to SMART business goals and meaningful KPIs.
  • Business case and project management skills (from approval to execution).
  • Proficiency in WordPress, HTML, CSS, Schema/JSON, APIs (basic knowledge of Python, JavaScript, SQL).
  • Strong ability to spot patterns, troubleshoot, and escalate issues proactively.

Compensation Range: $85k/yr - $105k/yr
