Sr. SEO Specialist [Remote or On-site]

Penicillin changed medicine. The Beatles changed music. And Veracity Insurance Solutions is changing insurance (hey, we can’t all be doctors and musicians). What GEICO did for home and auto insurance we’re doing for business insurance. We make small business insurance simple, affordable, and buyable online without talking to an agent. We’re growing fast and we want you to be a part of it!

About the Role

The Senior SEO Specialist drives the bus when it comes to organic strategy. And if the average SEO specialist is Otto from The Simpsons, we’re looking more for a Ms. Frizzle to drive the Magic School Bus of organic search efforts. Reporting to & supported by the Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll have oodles of autonomy to own organic rankings.

You’ll be assigned a group of top tier products to work your SEO ninjutsu on and increase organic traffic for. You’ll also have four other humble, hungry, smart, and proactive SEO Specialists to guide, coach, and influence in taking the SERPs by storm. In short, your influence is vast with big chances to shine.

What We Offer

The budgeted range for this position is $75K - $110K DOE, plus 160 hours of PTO and two floating holidays (4+ weeks). We also offer a quarterly bonus structure, promotion opportunities, a great 401k (company match FTW!), free mental health and therapy tools, employer-subsidized health/dental/vision plans, and more.

Plus nothing compares to being part of explosive growth and working with some truly remarkable humans. See what they say about working at Veracity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT5n7oU0Hi0

A Day in the Life of the Sr. SEO Specialist

If you prefer a Groundhog Day job, respawning the same level/tasks each day, this ain’t it. Each day is a little different for the Sr. SEO Specialist, it’s never boring, and it’ll require agility to respond to the evolving world of SEO (thanks, Google!).

That said, a “typical” day might include website audits, keyword research, link building, helping to develop/execute content strategy, page layout/design reviews, competitor analysis, market analysis, consulting on site speed & technical best practices, project planning, reporting, requesting content through content briefs, reviewing and giving feedback on content drafts, collaborating with other teams, leading Community of Practice meetings, presenting on upcoming projects, and more.

And as a senior leader on the team, you’ll have ample opportunity to engage in collective problem-solving, flex your mentoring muscle, and help the other members of the team level up by advising and consulting on their SEO strategies and plans.

What You Need to Succeed

You obviously know the h*ck out of Search Engine Optimization. If you eat, drink, and sleep organic search, bring what you know about successful SEO campaigns, and infuse that knowledge into our products, you’ll succeed.

Since you’re a search engine marketer, your project management muscles are awesome, so flex ‘em. Your flair for data analysis and using numbers as a success guide are also key. And your ability to collaborate and communicate with others, including stakeholders and other SEOs, is unmatched.

Tracking KPIs and analyzing outcomes to say what worked and what didn’t will definitely come in handy. Some failure is inevitable, so learning and adapting are great traits.

You’re good at taking into account past outcomes, future forecasts, market research, building business cases, project plans, and SMART goals that improve organic rankings.

Above all, you’re humble, hungry, smart, and proactive. And if you’re that, you’re one of us.

Your schedule should mostly overlap with our MST business hours, but nights and weekends are extremely rare to non-existent, and actual hours will be worked out with your manager.
