We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Controller to join our team. Under the direction of the VP, Finance this role will be responsible for contributing to the success of Veracity by overseeing the Accounting Department and financial aspects of the business.

We’re looking for a talented, detail-oriented Controller to join our team. Under the direction of the VP, Finance this role will be responsible for contributing to the success of Veracity by overseeing the Accounting Department and financial aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the team workload to ensure the timely and accurate completion of accounting data, tasks, reporting, and projects
- Mentor each direct report by providing the guidance and tools needed to accomplish their professional development
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Ensure vendor invoices, statements, and/or expense reports are processed in a timely
- Support and help enhance internal controls
- Prepare and assist monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
- Provide a budget for forecasting and budget variance per product
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvement
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Analyze department reports for accuracy & consistency
- Ability to effectively interact cross functionally and with all organizational /management level
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to organize data efficiently
- Resolve the day-to-day problems presented to the accounting team directly or by providing guidance and support
- Perform banking transactions such as positive pay approvals, wire payments, etc.
- Extensive use of Excel – VLOOKUP formulas, pivot tables, etc.
- Vigilantly protect the security and confidentiality of financial data
- Ensure team adherence to Accounting, Insurance, and Government standards and regulations
- Handle correspondence via email, phone, mail, etc.
- Work independently, take initiative, and work with little supervision
- Maintain regular and timely attendance
- Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
- BA in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, Payroll, GL and financial statement preparation/analysis) preferably in a scaling organization
- 5+ years management experience
- CPA license or Public Accounting experience preferred
- MBA preferred
- Insurance experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet critical deadlines
- Strong knowledge of Trust Laws
- Strong technical skills
