We’re seeking a talented, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager this role will be responsible for supporting our agency business by maintaining account reconciliation, recording, invoicing and performing basic accounting functions. This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and efficiently process a high volume of invoices, ensuring timely billing and compliance with internal standards 
  • Manage and document refund requests, communicating professionally and promptly with policyholders to resolve issues 
  • Prepare and analyze monthly reports on departmental error rates and revenue performance for leadership review 
  • Review and remit biweekly carrier payables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in disbursements 
  • Process weekly chargebacks, document related activity, and coordinate policy cancellations as necessary 
  • Generate accounts receivable (AR) statements and reports by consolidating data from multiple systems 
  • Prepare and distribute weekly intents to cancel, cancellation notices, and write-off documentation in accordance with policy timelines 
  • Submit outstanding account balances to third-party collections agencies as appropriate 
  • Investigate chargebacks and apply findings to associated policies to ensure accurate records and resolution 
  • Issue agency billing refunds and perform monthly reconciliation of financial payments in line with company policies 
  • Apply incoming payments to customer, broker, and internal accounts with precision and consistency 
  • Review financial details of finance agreements and submit completed documentation to the contract processor for finalization 
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned 
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in the accounting field, with demonstrated proficiency in general ledger management, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Prior experience in insurance agency accounting or financial services preferred
  • Familiarity with agency billing, collections, and reconciliation processes
  • Experience with accounting software; familiarity with VUE, AMS, or similar agency management systems is a plus
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and data analysis tools

Compensation Range: $18/hr - $23/hr w/ $1k annual bonus
