We are seeking a part-time Tech Ops Security & Compliance Specialist to support our ongoing efforts in maintaining a secure, compliant infrastructure and workflow. This role will involve coordinating with our software development and technical operations teams to identify vulnerabilities, investigate root causes, manage remediation efforts, and ensure that our organization continues to meet relevant security and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will help to develop and implement policies and best practices while bringing hands-on experience with security scanning tools and a solid understanding of AWS Cloud.

Key Responsibilities

Vulnerability Management
  • Review scan results from HostedScans, Bitbucket pipelines, PCI compliance scanner and other security tools that are being utilized.
  • Investigate the root causes of identified vulnerabilities and coordinate with relevant teams to address and remediate issues.
  • Create, track, and prioritize vulnerability tickets in Jira and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
Compliance & Policy Oversight
  • Assist with reviewing and updating security policies and procedures to align with internal standards and industry best practices (e.g., SOC 2, PCI DSS).
  • Collaborate with teams to implement, enforce, and document updated policies.
  • Help develop and maintain a plan to ensure policy compliance across the organization.
Client Questionnaires & Documentation
  • Respond to client security questionnaires under the guidance of your manager and senior team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on the organization’s security posture, policies, and controls.
Incident Investigation & Reporting
  • Support incident response efforts by collecting data, assisting in root cause analysis, and documenting findings
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews to help improve processes and prevent future occurrences
Collaboration & Communication
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work closely with engineering teams to improve security best practices in CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
Other Duties
  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 1+ years' experience working in a Tech Ops Security and Compliance setting
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate productive and respectful collaboration with others and that value both the work and the people doing it.

Compensation Range: $25/hr - $35/hr
